You work so hard.
Time is a precious resource, and you can't find a way to squeeze more lemons. What can you do?
Get more juice to the squeeze.
Some recruiters place almost every candidate they interview, and others don't. Why?
Changing a career is consistently rated as one of the top five difficult decisions a person makes in his or her life, and recruitment is at the heart of this process. Despite the personal nature of the business, traditional recruitment training has historically focused heavily on sales techniques borrowed from other industries - and even in the year 2020, phrases like “handling objections,” “the hard sell,” and “controlling the client” are commonly used.
The problem is that recruitment isn’t like other sales. Our human “product” requires a very different approach, and it’s evident that candidates and clients are quickly tiring of the approach that many recruitment firms and internal recruitment functions are using. Top recruiters have known for years that the key to success is not exclusively in hours worked and calls completed, but is rather a combination of hustle and a much bigger underlying strategy and proven relationship-deepening skills.
According to Professor Cal Newport in his popular book, Deep Work, people often mistake busyness as a substitute for productivity. One of the reasons recruiters spend so much time on social media, sending emails, and “smiling and dialing” is because it creates an experience of being continuously engaged in activity, which leads us to the false conclusion that we are being productive simply because we are busy.
In Michael Neill’s book, Creating the Impossible, he states the true definition of productivity as:
The ratio between your effort and the reward you get for that effort.
Research supports that this has nothing to do with our level of activity, hours worked, or stress level. Typical recruiting metrics are based on the idea that there is a 1:1 ratio between effort and reward, so in order to increase the reward, you need to increase the amount of effort. Productivity becomes a numbers game where you always need to do more to get more.
However, what if it were possible to experience exponential returns on the same effort? So instead of 1:1, you experienced 1:5 or 1:10 returns?
As it turns out, it is possible. Because:
Higher levels of productivity don’t come from finding ways to squeeze more lemons; they come from getting more juice to the squeeze.
Hungry performers will always put in the hours (as they should), but top 10% producers that enjoy longevity in the industry will not burn themselves out by finding ways to squeeze more lemons. They find ways to get more juice. And I have good news - in recruitment, many of these juice-squeezing techniques are teachable. As a 14 year, #1 ranked top-producing recruiter turned Certified Executive Coach, I’ve broken them down into 6 simple modules, and I cannot wait to teach them to you.
Welcome to
Recruiter Rewire.
"Henna did an amazing job on providing me with a type of recruitment training I never received before. This program has me looking at this business with a whole new perspective! I feel 10X more confident on every call I make and meeting I attend. There is no doubt in my mind that I will hit my goals every year now. I am closing more deals and have already made more money, and the questions I now ask my clients/candidates are more thoughtful, which leads to meaningful conversations. Everything that was taught to me was easy to transition into my day-to-day duties, and it was all so valuable. Well worth the investment!"
